Cool Ranges that do not have W.O.L.F. on them
Ranges are a main focal point of any kitchen. The common high end default cooking appliances in the US market have pretty much become the WOLF brand. However, there are others on the market that offer same performance, customization and better aesthetics around the same price points. You may not readily see them displayed at your local appliance showroom or aggressively marketed, they are worth researching and considering as part of any new kitchen project. I am showcasing 4 brands to put on your appliance research list for consideration.
BLUESTAR Ranges - You may or may not have ever heard of this appliance company. It is a Pennsylvania company that has been making ranges since 1880. BlueStar makes professional grade ranges made in the USA and worth consideration when selecting appliances for any new kitchen. Bonus feature -most of their ranges are fully customizable: range color, burner layout, door types, knob color, etc.
AGA - The classic Britain range. They have expanded the range offerings beyond the classic model. All of them are aesthetically beautiful. Depending on the model - you may have to have a space that accommodates very specific specifications - research heat and ventilation needs. From the AGA website: “AGA-cooked food tastes better simply because an AGA cooks better. Unlike most American luxury ranges, AGA uses gentle, radiant heat circulating through the ovens and hotplates, AGA creates dedicated cooking zones at pre-set temperatures for ease, convenience, and full-flavored results. This radiant heat cooking is an altogether gentler process than the fierce, hot air of conventional ranges. It preserves more of the food’s natural moisture, flavor, texture, and goodness. And, with our more recent electric models, you can choose to have your AGA on when you need it and off when you don’t.”
Bertazzoni is an Italy based appliance company. They offer professional grade ranges at a competitive price point. The ranges are not customizable. However, some models are offered in white, red, yellow, black and orange in addition to stainless steel. Bertazzoni ranges are available through appliance showrooms.
Lacanche ranges are made in France to order. Lacanche makes custom ranges and that is all they do. Lacanche ranges are only sold directly and they are made to order in France - lead times are typically around 12 weeks. There are 3 showrooms in the US - New York, Los Angeles and Seattle. There are multiple different models available for you to customize. These ranges are controlled by mechanical mechanisms - no computer boards to go berserk. These ranges are beautiful, well made and cook phenomenal. You can go to website that I have linked and build a range to see all the options available. You can choose both electric and gas fueled oven options - very rare to be able to have different fueled ovens in a range.
These 4 brands: BlueStar, AGA, Bertazzoni and Lacanche are just a few of the range brands that you may want to consider for any kitchen project.
